WHERE WILL YOU BE WORKING?
The Research and Economic Forecasting service plays a leading role in monitoring developments and trends in the financial world, especially as regards financial technology (FinTech). It is tasked with identifying external risks, in particular through preparing a periodic dashboard and organizing a cross‑department Risk Committee. This work forms the basis for determining the annual action plan of the FSMA.
WHAT WILL YOUR JOB ENTAIL?
- You will be involved in monitoring trends in financial innovation and in identifying risks, if needed by participating in working groups at national, European or international level.
- You will contribute to economic analyses in the FSMA's areas of competence, based on external or internal data (MiFIR, EMIR, etc. databases).
- You will carry out periodic innovative and transversal projects (development of comparison tools, etc.)
WHAT KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS DO YOU BRING?
- A Master’s degree in economics or in business engineering; holding a doctorate is an asset.
- Preferably, several years' professional experience as an economist in the financial and/or academic sector.
- Ability to process data (knowledge of the R software is an asset).
- An explicit interest in financial markets and products, as well as in the various new developments in those areas.
- Adaptability to new situations and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work as a team and to take initiative.
- Analytical skills and a capacity for synthesis. Strong ability to communicate in a clear and structured manner both verbally and in writing.
- Goal-orientedness, assertiveness and persuasive powers of argumentation.
- Affinity with the tasks in the public interest entrusted to the FSMA.
- Solid competence in French, Dutch and English.
