The Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) warns the public against fake websites that use the website layout and data of a registered credit intermediary.
The FSMA has determined that the website layout and the data belonging to a credit intermediary registered with it, Partners Finances, is being used to offer credit via fraudulent means.
The following websites are concerned:
There may be other similar sites. These websites are unrelated to Partners Finances.
According to the information available to the FSMA, it seems that the credit being offered by those websites is entirely fraudulent. The lenders operate as follows: if consumers wish to take up an offer of credit, they are asked to make certain payments to cover various costs relating to the credit (so-called dossier fees or insurance). Once those costs have been paid, the consumer does not receive the credit, and it is almost impossible to recover the sums that were paid.
The FSMA therefore very strongly advises against responding to such offers of credit and against making any payment to these companies.
