On 7 February 2024, the Royal Decree on the bankers’ oath was published in the Belgian Official Gazette (available in Dutch and French only). The Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) is responsible for the supervision and enforcement of this new legislation. On the occasion of the publication of the Royal Decree, the FSMA confirms the date of entry into force of the bankers’ oath and has published the applicable ethical rules on its website.
