Management Assistant

As a supervisory authority, the Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) works to ensure the honest and equitable treatment of financial consumers. It promotes proper provision of financial services by verifying that financial institutions comply with the applicable rules of conduct, by supervising financial products, financial service providers and supplementary pensions, and by contributing to improving the financial education of consumers.

Where will you be working?

As a member of the team of management assistants, you will be involved in the day-to-day work of a department. You will carry out various support tasks for a multidisciplinary team of legal advisors and economists. You will serve as a contact person. The ability to communicate in a professional and respectful manner, in both French and Dutch, is therefore a must.

What will your job entail?

  • Proofreading and putting the finishing touches on letters, reports and memos.
  • Handling the correspondence and email (registration, dispatching, follow-up and filing) and collaborating on other administrative follow-up tasks.
  • Handling telephone calls.
  • Creating and updating dossiers. 
  • Organizing internal and external meetings, and sometimes business travel.

What knowledge, experience and skills do you bring?

  • A Bachelor’s diploma (non-university) in office management or a comparable diploma is a must.
  • Excellent spoken and written Dutch and French. A practical knowledge of English.
  • Flexibility, good organizational skills and the ability to set priorities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good knowledge of the commonly used Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Familiarity with SharePoint is an asset.
