The FSMA has been re-elected as Chair of ESMA's Investor Protection and Intermediaries Standing Committee (IPISC)

Press release

The Supervisory Board of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has elected the Chairs of its working groups. The mandate at the head of the IPISC of the FSMA, represented by its Chairman, Jean-Paul Servais, has been extended for two years.

"As Chairman of the FSMA I'm delighted and honoured with the re-election for a second term to the chairmanship of the IPISC working group at ESMA. This is a sign of the international recognition and support of the FSMA's work and initiatives. IPISC has paved the way for considerable progress at a European level for the protection of consumers, especially by developing MiFID rules of conduct, which ensure that financial institutions are honest, fair, and professional in the treatment of their customers." says Jean-Paul Servais, Chairman of the FSMA.

In addition to drawing up recommendations relating to the MiFID rules of conduct that apply to financial investments, IPISC provides technical advice to the European Commission and elaborates directives on the distribution of investment products and on the supervision of European financial service providers.

ESMA has published a press release regarding the appointments of the Chairs of its working groups.
