Where will you be working?
The FSMA’s DORA supervision unit accompanies the implementation of the European DORA Regulation and verifies, for example by means of inspections, that institutions subject to the FSMA’s supervision apply it correctly.
What will your job entail?
- As a DORA auditor, you will be help guide the entry into force of DORA, both within the financial sector and at the FSMA itself. DORA was adopted at the end of 2022 and entered into force on 17 January 2025. It is intended to increase the cyber resilience of the European financial sector. It lays down requirements for management of IT risks, IT incidents, periodic tests of digital resilience and risk management in cases where it is outsourced to third-party providers.
- You will participate in drawing up an appropriate supervisory policy as well as in implementing the operational framework of supervision within the FSMA. You will also assist the financial entities supervised by the FSMA with implementing the new DORA framework, and will contribute to improving the digital operational resilience of the financial sector. In so doing, you will be participating in supervisory activities carried on by the FSMA within the framework of DORA. This will include, among other things, carrying out surveys of digital operational resilience among financial entities under supervision by the FSMA and will conduct inspections at those entities.
- You will keep up with recent developments by attending meetings with heads of IT departments, specialized IT control functions (those responsible for security and for the BCP/DRP, ICT risk managers) and internal audit at entities under supervision.
- You will contribute to drawing up prudential policy, methodologies and transversal analyses in the area of IT by participating in internal, Belgian and international working groups.
- You will be part of a dynamic and enthusiastic team that is in full development. Given the topic being addressed, you will have a great deal of contact with staff members within the various FSMA departments.
What knowledge, experience and skills do you bring?
- An engineering degree, a Master’s degree in mathematics and/or IT, or a Master’s in another field. In addition, you have in-depth knowledge of IT processes and technologies in the financial sector.
- Experience in IT audit is an asset but not a requirement.
- A methodical approach to the analysis of IT processes and risks and to offering appropriate solutions.
- A highly analytical mindset combined with an excellent capacity for synthesis and for logical structuring of oral and written communication, as well as the ability to express complex subjects in simple language.
- Strong adaptability and a good sense of interpersonal relations. Ability to work on a team and to take initiative.
- Efficiency, assertiveness and skill at persuasive argumentation.
- Fluency in Dutch and French and a good command of English.
