On Friday, 19 November 2021, the Chairman of the FSMA and Vice-Chairman of IOSCO, Mr Jean-Paul Servais, spoke at a colloquium held at the Sorbonne University in Paris.
The event was organized by the LabEx ReFi, a multidisciplinary research laboratory dedicated to the study and evaluation of regulatory policies. The objective of the laboratory is to improve understanding of the functioning and regulation of financial systems.
The first part of the colloquium focused on digital assets. In the second part, a round table was held. On that occasion, various speakers addressed some of the major challenges in the field of financial regulation. The Chairman of the FSMA shared his vision of several important topics for the years to come, such as digital developments and progress in the field of sustainability, as well as methods for evaluating an appropriate supervisory framework for various players within the financial sector.
