Mr Jean-Paul Servais, the Chairman of the FSMA, delivered the closing keynote at the yearly EU-Asia Financial Services Dialogue organised by Asifma and Afore, in which more than 450 persons participated digitally. His remarks focused on the recent developments in the international landscape for sustainable finance and sustainability disclosures by public companies.
Mr Servais is directly involved in these discussions in his capacity of Vice Chair of the International Organization of Securities Commissions, whose members regulate over 95% of the world’s capital markets. In that capacity he takes part in the international governance of accounting standard-setting as chair of the IFRS Monitoring Board, which oversees the IFRS Foundation, and as co-chair of the Monitoring Group overseeing that audit-related standard setting is done in the public interest.
