More than half of all Belgians (52%) make a budget. This is the finding of a major survey of 2000 Belgians, on behalf of the Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA). The survey also looked at the growing popularity of new modes of payment such as smartphone payments and ‘buy now, pay later’ apps. The results of the survey were published at the beginning of Money Week and point to the importance of good financial education. In the coming week, the FSMA will teach a record 190,000 pupils in primary and secondary schools how to make a budget.
