ESMA (European Securities and Markets Authority) regularly publishes extracts from its confidential database of enforcement decisions on financial statements. The database is managed by Financial Reporting Working Group (also called European Enforcers Coordination Sessions) (FRWG (EECS)), which is a forum within ESMA comprising the enforcers from the EEA countries. The decisions are published after analysis and discussion within the forum.
The publication aims to strengthen supervisory convergence and provide issuers, auditors and users of financial statements with relevant information on the appropriate application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the ESMA Guidelines on Alternative Performance Measures (APMs)1.
