New opinions of the Insurance Commission

At the request of Mr Pierre-Yves Dermagne, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy and Employment, the Insurance Commission has issued two opinions.

  • The first opinion is dated 23 October 2024 (DOC/C2024/1) and addresses Article 156, 1° of the Law of 4 April 2014 on insurance regarding the freedom to choose legal counsel under legal expenses insurance.
  • On 12 November 2024, the Commission issued an opinion (DOC/C2024/4) on the draft Law amending Article 7 of the Law of 21 November 1989 on compulsory civil liability insurance in respect of motor vehicles and the draft Royal Decree amending Article 3 of the Royal Decree of 16 April 2018 establishing the terms and conditions for insurance contracts covering compulsory civil liability in respect of motor vehicles, as regards the claims-history statement.
