AML compliance officers (ALMCO) play a key role in combatting money laundering and terrorist financing (AML/CFT). Given the importance of their tasks, the FSMA wishes to increase opportunities for exchanging information with AMLCOs, in particular by publishing newsletters and organizing events specifically for them.
In line with this aim, the FSMA has published a newsletter for AMLCOs, to inform them of recent developments regarding AML/CFT and of upcoming events. These include, in particular, the second edition of the 'AMLCO Days', intended this year for the Asset Management sector, that will take place on 17 October 2023, and the publication of the EBA Guidelines on the use of remote customer onboarding solutions and of the FATF Report on countering ransomware financing.
