The purpose of this newsletter is to remind you of the principal obligations imposed on you by the new anti-money laundering law as regards the assessment and management of the risks of money laundering and the financing of terrorism (ML/FT).
The FSMA has published on its website the joint Risk Factor Guidelines (French or Dutch only) drawn up by the European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs). These guidelines are intended to assist you in analysing the ML/FT risks to which you are exposed, as well as to help you take the appropriate preventive measures in respect of the risks identified.
The FSMA expects you to carry out, by 30 June, a general risk assessment within your company with a view to implementing effective mechanisms to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. The FSMA will make available to intermediaries an informational handbook to help them carry out the risk assessment.
