Would you like to obtain a certificate of absence of professional ban?

Request your certificate of absence of professional ban

A certificate of absence of professional ban is the proof, issued by the FSMA, that you are not currently under any professional ban as referred to in the legislation governing the banker’s oath.

You need to obtain such a certificate if you apply for a position as banking service provider. The entity concerned may accept your application only if it has first received the certificate. For more information, please see the question 'What is the certificate of absence of professional ban?' in the FAQs on the banker’s oath.

A request for a certificate is to be made as follows:

  • for persons with a Belgian identity card: by using the FSMA’s application, to which you can connect via eID or Itsme;
  • for persons without a Belgian identity card: by contacting the “Management of the banker’s oath” unit of the FSMA by email: sbe@fsma.be (with a copy of your identity card).

The FSMA will process the personal data you submit to it with your request for a certificate of absence of a professional ban in accordance with its Privacy Policy for banking service providers.

For any other questions, please contact the “Management of the banker’s oath” unit of the FSMA at +32 2 220 55 56 or  sbe@fsma.be.
