If you wish to file a complaint against a credit servicer, credit purchaser or credit service provider, you can first contact the entity in question.
If you are not satisfied with the solution offered by a credit servicer, you can contact the Ombudsfin: Mediation Service on Financial Matters.
Should your complaint concern a Belgian credit servicer, credit purchaser or credit service provider and involve a credit agreement transferred by a credit institution on or after 24 January 2025, you can also contact the FSMA. Complaints play an important signalling role for the FSMA. As a supervisory authority, it will investigate your complaint and, if necessary, take the appropriate measures. But please note that the FSMA is not competent to mediate between you and a credit servicer, credit purchaser or credit service provider. Moreover, as a matter of principle it cannot provide you with any information that is covered by professional secrecy.
If your complaint concerns a credit servicer that is authorized by the supervisory authority of another European Union member state, please address your complaint to the competent authority of that member state. The list of competent authorities in the other member states is available on the website of the European Banking Authority (EBA). The FSMA is not competent to handle those types of complaints.
